Hi Mazzy has always been nervous of other dogs, but we have never given up trying to socialise her. She takes a little time to get used to other dogs. As a youngkin she was a puppy school dropout. (We should teach her to sing that ). It would be great to pair her up with a dog that is calm in a...

Hey, I'm Dog Whisperer Kev. You might be wondering what a Dog Whisperer is? A Dog Whisperer is somebody who has developed a high level of awareness and understanding of the mind and natural instincts of the canine species. This allows human and dog to form a deep connection free of the many constraints humans normally put in the way. And I am here to help you and your dog achieve a balanced and happy relationship through the use of Dog Psychology.

A little bit about me. In the past, I spent time at the RSPCA working as a volunteer Dog Walker and Dog Grooming Assistant. And that’s when I first began using Dog Psychology to understand and communicate with dogs. After all, a dog is a dog, not a human. In the time I spent at the RSPCA. I worked with thousands of dogs through rain, hail or shine, helping the dog community as best as I possibly could. Which as a Dog Whisperer, I continue to do now. At the RSPCA, there were good times. Like watching a dog, get a second chance at life by being adopted by a new family. Then there were the bad times. Like spending the last few minutes with a dog before the dog was put to sleep. You name it, I experienced at the RSPCA. If I had to do it all over again, I would do it in half a heartbeat. For those experiences changed and shaped who I am today.

Now, a bit about what I do as a Dog Whisperer. As a Dog Whisperer I help correct and rehabilitate unwanted dog behaviours. And teach you, the owner, on how to take control of your dog by using calm assertive energy to become the pack leader. Because calm assertive energy instinctively tells dog that you are authority figure. Then by using calm assertive energy you will have the ability to take control and turn your dog into calm submissive pack follower. And you and your dog’s relationship will grow stronger each day with you leading and your dog following.

Remember, dogs don’t run the world. We run the world. We have to do whatever it takes to make our dogs as balanced and as happy as we can because we brought them into our world. They didn’t ask to join our world.

I will help rehabilitate the following unwanted behaviours:

    Barking
    Biting
    Scratching
    Anxiety
    Pulling on the lead
    Dog, Food, Human aggression
    Over excited dominance
    Obsession
    Territorial dominance etc.

    Behavioural Assessment

In the one hour behavioural assessment I will study your dog's behaviour in the backyard, house, on the walk and in social environments. The information gathered, will be handed over to you, to give you a better understanding of your dog's behaviours and needs. Then a highly suggested follow up session will be needed for me to show you how to correct and eliminate unwanted behaviours.

    Prices

Sessions on offer are hourly, half day or full day. Please contact for a quote.

Personally I find small dogs can be very agressive if not more so but may not have the ability to do as much damage & are easier for owners to control. My staffy is almost 30kgs now & if he gets loose he has the ability to lick you to death but thats about how violent he will get unless provoked. Show me a bad pet & Ill show you a bad owner.

    Agreed.

positive reinforcements are not always optional. perfect example of a case i had last week. i was working with a dog aggressive pit bull. he tried to attack/kill my dog Harlem, hundreds of times in a two hour session whilst i was rehabilitating the pit bull. the only option i had to prevent the pit bull from killing was the choke chain as he ripped off his muzzle within the first 20 seconds. now am i a bully?

If a dog jumps up at you, you stand your ground and lift your knee up with calm assertive energy to block the dog. And you keep repeating that technique until it eliminates the dogs unwanted behavior. It is that simple. All that is required is time and patience on humans behalf. Remember, it is never the dogs fault. Dog acts on instinct. At fault is the human behind the dog. Here is and example of one of my clients: When Kev arrived it was instantly obvious he was a professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He took control of the situation and our 'pack' on the spot. The family spent time with him understanding dog psychology and how we as humans have to be the dominant ones in the pack by being calm and assertive to gain a pack understanding with our dogs. The change in the dogs was incredible, everyone was impressed!! We spent the morning correcting one of our biggest problems, barking at the door/ visitors. The change in our dogs was very quick, and all it took was some understanding of what we were doing wrong with our behaviour and learning how to get our dogs to be calm and learn that they needn't be aggressive. Kevs' dog Harlem was a shining example of his work. We spent the afternoon teaching the dogs to learn to like swimming in the pool and exhausting energy from them. I never thought I would see the day the dogs didn't frantically splash about in a panic to escape, but with a little patience we got them to calmly swim around with us. The whole day was just one extraordinary leap to the next. For 3 years my dog was hyper and uncontrollable to the point that mum was threatening to give her away. Now I have a completely relaxed and settled dog thanks to Kev. Everyone in the family is still in disbelief how well Millie has been behaving after Kev's visit. I strongly urge anyone who needs some help with their dogs to seek Kev's service because you will gain such an amazing understanding of you and your dogs behaviour and just how easily it can be changed. Thank you so much kev! Matilda If you would like to know more about me, add my facebook and ask me any questions you would like :) http://www.facebook.com/dogwhispererkev Cheers.
