Hi dog lovers,
There's a great book and website available helping dog owners discover pet-friendly holiday spots around the country which you might find useful.
I hate going away without Bear, and unless travelling overseas, I ALWAYS take him with me on holidays. We go everywhere together (apart from work) but it's terribly tricky to find good places that allow dogs. Here is a resource which can help:
Whether it be a holiday by the beach, a mountain idyll, traditional bed and breakfast, camping grounds or farm stay, there’s more than 3,000 pet-friendly national listings in this useful ‘Life. Most of the accommodation listings have secure fencing to allow dogs freedom to explore their new surroundings, while giving owners peace of mind. The holiday destination owners are dog lovers themselves and many allow dogs inside, have fully prepared the accommodation with removable, washable couch covers and provide extra towels for dogs, for example.
For exceptional accommodation standards for dogs and their humans, The Five Paw Dog Friendly Accommodation Awards were created by ‘Life.Be in it” to give special recognition. Nominated by readers and visitors, the most important qualification for Five Paw rating is that accommodation facilities make dogs and their owners feel like valued and welcome guests.
