Rambo and Koda. By Bronwyn Whitechurch.

My partner always wanted huskies and i wanted a lab. I wanted a dog that would be excited when he sees me, make me laugh and be the best pet you could have for your first. We had not lived together yet and we had just started to build our first home. One weekend i was walking through our local shopping centre when i walked past the pet shop. I stopped immediatley grabbed my phone out and phoned my partner, i told him there were samoyed x husky for sale and they are gorgeous and that we should get one. He then brought into light the fact that we do not have our own place (both living with parentals at the time). i told him to leave it with me. i then phoned my partners mum and asked if we brought a dog would it be possible for him to live at her place, she said yes!!! a week later my partner and i had the hard choice of choosing which one. I wanted a girl and my partner wanted a boy. We picked the boy due to his random white markings and his afro hair at the time. My partner wanted to name him Rambo - something strong and as well as being his favourite movie.

Rambo came home, he mainly stayed with me wherever i stayed and he would be looked after my nan during the day. I will not forget the first time i took him on a walk, i had never laughed so much in my life, he was amazed by the cars, especially the trucks and the puddles and his favourite-leaves!!!

I spent nearly all my time with him and trying to train him to be good, i took him to puppy school and was doing so well. I always bragged about my little boy to everyone at work (people thought i was weird because i call him my boy). One day one of my work mates asked me if i would adopt their 2 year old Husky Koda as they were having another baby and do not have the time to play with him. Me being the Husky lover that i am now agreed straight away, but had to check with my partners family if i could let Koda in their backyard with Rambo. They said it was fine.

That weekend i picked Koda up and brought him to my in-laws, my m-inlaw saw Koda and her mouth dropped, she screamed "oh my dog it is a horse". Within a week Rambo and Koda got along so well. With them being togther and seeing Rambo develop i noticed some traits about both of them which make the my unique beautiful dogs.........

- How excited they are to see me whenever i walk past the window, go to the gate etc
- They know which one is my car when i pull up and get excited and start talking
- When they do something naughty and they know they have been naughty and drop their ears and look said, as well as talking to you to say sorry.
- How excited they get when we go on walks
- Rambo turns around to check on me when we walk
- The endless kisses and cuddles you get
- If i sit on the couch, they will go to that window and watch me, if i am in the bathroom they will wait there at that window and so on.....
- Seeing them cuddle together on cold nights
- Watching them play in their pool in the summer
- Their unqiue talk, it brings a smile everytime.
- All the attention we get on walks and at the vets

I never thought i would know a large breed that is totally devoted and loyal to you, i just look at them and smile and think i am so glad we had picked our two huskies. They are so spoilt by everyone in our family and my in-laws are looking for a husky to call their own.

They are my boys!!!!!
