Mali's story. By Gershep.

Mali came to me as an unexpected surprise from my next door neighbour when I received him he was so small he fit into the palm of my hand and to keep him warm we placed him in a sock.
I never knew then the gift I had been given, Mali is a Mini Foxie Tri Coloured male.
His parents were complete outside dogs but unfortunately they constantly bred every season puppies could be heard crying from my kitchen window including my beautiful Mali prior to me having him.
I was on my way to Melbourne the day my neighbour called me over and said here I have something for you and quickly handed over the tiny pup over the back fence, now you have to understand that we had lattice work up on the fence at that time and he was put through a square of that to reach the hands that would never let him go.
We went off to Melbourne that day to a very good friends house as she was from a serbian family I asked what tiny was in serbian her response was Mali hence his name. Pronounced Mar – lee.

Mali came everywhere with me at the time I had several other dogs and he loved his ball and best friend a German shepherd called Dallas he slept on her back and she kept him safe and warm. Come to think of it I think he was the one she only really liked they were fast friends.
My health deteriorated slowly and I had to give up my beloved heart breed German Shepherds but Mali there was NO way he was going to be leaving anytime soon.
Suffering from severe depression Mali brightened my days up no matter how dark a mood I was in he always made me smile in some way I called him my little ray of sunshine. Which was so
true as the darkest days of my life he always shined through.
Mali is absolutely ball crazy and I love that about him he's favourite sleeping spot is under my t.shirt where he can be warm, he has been one very spoilt dog no not spoilt loved.

We had some hard times in 2008 and found ourselves homeless and left with nothing except Mali and his other companion Hilary my other mini foxie. Fortunately I had a good friend that took me into her home but unfortunately the dogs were not welcomed as they only liked large dogs.
I asked a good friend if she could babysit for three weeks well three weeks ended up being seven months.
I fought tooth and nail to keep my babies, I paid for all their food, expenses and ontop of that the person who was looking after the dogs, yes they were happy but I was miserable with out them particularly at night when Mali always fell asleep in my arms.
I will be forever in debt to Mary for keeping Mali and Hilary safe and that I could be reunited with them.

Mali did suffer a bit there due to the other dog that lived with him as my friend had her own dogs one of them was a bossy dog and he and Mali had many fights but it settled down in the end.
In November last year I found a wonderful new home for me and my babies up on 13 acres of paradise in country victoria. Finally Mali and Hilary could come home to me!!
We moved here and we have never looked back again, Mali is very happy here and I am over the moon to have him with me 24/7 again and to fall asleep with him in my arms.

Mali has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life without him I do not know what I would have done I guess in many ways he saved my life in more ways than one. Mali is now three years old and I tell him everyday that he has to live until he is twenty years old and that we can grow old together. My dedication to him I had his right front paw inked on a piece of paper took it to the tattooist and had it tattooed on my right inner wrist.
This way no matter what happens he will always be with me he is my little hero and I love him dearly.

Dedicated To Mali
My Ray Of Sunshine
