Shammi's story. By Emma Montgomery.

As I walked into this strangers house to look at this dog that my nan wanted to buy I was thinking why are we getting another dog, we already have Tara. My friend Sinead was with me and was very happy to see the new dog. There was this small white fluff ball ducking under a chair I went up and It growled at me and tried running away, i thought she was gorgeous, so cute and small. As my Nan was talking to the previous owner my nan bought Shanelle. We got her, along with a bed and a bag of toys. The drive on the way home was interesting she was quiet and just staring out the window as well as Licking my face. My Nan and I were discussing names as she was only 1 ½ we thought she would get use to another name if we changed it, as we weren’t to Fond of the name Shanelle, we decided on Shammi as it sounded similar and it suited her.

Weeks past and Shammi fitted in perfectly as home. She made herself quiet comfortable sleeping on beds, couches, laps you name it and Shammi had Been there! She got along quiet well with our older dog Tara who we think she looks up to as her mum, even though they look nothing alike. Shammi Became very fond of her fluffy toys, teddy bears and anything soft, but she hates squeaky toys.

Now getting more into the future, just over a year ago (March 2008) My mum and her partner Jason, bought a new dog from the RSPCA, under the name of Chino, a staffy cross, playful and loveable. We took Chino round to met Shammi, At first Shammi hated Chino as she is getting on 4 and he is a pup! But as months Passed they became very good friends, and now these days there best friends and can’t live without each other, every chance they get there inside or outside Chasing each other or chasing a ball to see who gets it first, I think we also see some little kisses or nose rubbing in there aswell.

At present Shammi is still a wonderful dog and I adore her everyday. I get home from work and she is greeting me at the door with her big slobby kisses.
She is a very happy dog and lazy (Hehe) she very much enjoys her sleep, but when she is awake she is alive and so happy to be around. And her cuddles are amazing and she keeps my Nan’s legs warm (Haha), Shammi will turn 5 this year, its almost been 5 years since we have had her and everyday as been great and her eyes pull me in more and more everyday. Unfortunately on the 15th of July 2009 (Yes today) Shammi a friend, mother figure and protector.

Tara Jane at 14 years passed away, our beautiful Collie dog in which our family love dearly had her time. Lately she had been slowly going and this past few weeks she had lost control of her bladder, in which we had to call the vet and say goodbye. At this time Shammi does know what happened she keeps going to see her and sniff her bed, we will miss you forever Tara your gorgeous eyes and loveable hugs will never be forgotten, R.I.P.

I hope you enjoy my story of my gorgeous Shizu x Maltese Shammi, and our other pride and joys Chino, and of course Tara.
