I get a milk bottle, put a sardine in the bottom and half fill it with water and a little bit of stock. Put the cap on and freeze it and then my dog has to get through all the ice (and bottle) to get to his sardine. Lasts all day while i am at work. :)

Hi All,
Does anyone know where to purchase a canine cooler bed in Melbourne? I have found a few variations of the cold bed but they are far more expensive then $30.

Mum bought us cooling bandanas off ebay and I've seen them at the pet shop up the road Paws Point (I know they have a website because Casper did some model work for photos). Bichon wool can be a real killer in the heat. We have a clam pool but Louis hates water so only the "furless" kids use it.

Paddle pool, BIG ice blocks floated in my water trough every morning, and on walks my "cool coat". trips to the beach are also fun ;)

Damp towel on my dog bed, crank up the evaporative cooler, huge ice blocks that melts slowly and great to lick too! and most importantly, a clam shell pool! which double as feet dipping pool for the humans.

My mum puts bones in the freezer-they stay nice and fresh and she always has a cool treat on hand. Being a pug I am pretty sensitive to heat so I have a clam pool as well. I go snorkelling for treats in it-it's great fun. I also love going to the beach and swimming in the lake on a hot day.

Mum makes up ice in big press seal bags and sometimes beefstock ones too, their bigger and last longer and than complains that the freezer has more ice than food in it, she also on the bad days stops off and buys bags of ice from the servo and puts that in our drinking bowl and we play around with that, we also have a clam pool and have lots of beach trips

"Cool" coats are a great thing to have on hand, especially for those dogs who trial/show. Great way to cool off when you don't want to be dripping wet. Check out Hugo's album to see him wearing his along with his cooling bandana

The clam - definately the clam! Also a wet tea towel around my neck like a kerchief keeps my chest where a dog gets hottest cool. I love ice cubes too.

Like the other pups, frozen stock ice cubes are always a favourite. Plus about a year ago I bought a dog collar/ ice pack that you soak in water and then put in the freezer. the collar freezes and is attached via velcro around your dogs neck. The brand is 'outward hound' (sorry cant find where i bought it from in Aus) but its pretty cool.

Plus, we too have a kids 'clam shell' which we fill with water for our pup to splash in (and drink out of :))
